MAC @ Willowbrook Mall NJ/Woodburry Commons NY [Jan0110] mac_cosmetics [spam] Just a heads up that Willowbrook Mall in Wayne NJ no longer has ANY old pigment jars, only the new ones (even a new rotating display that fits them perfectly). So my 30 minute drive doesn't go to waste I'd figure this info would hopefully help some NJ girls. After my disappointment there (I forgot to stock up earlier, oops) I headed over to the Woodburry Commons in Central Valley NY to see if the CCO had any pigments. They only had TWO (double ughhhhh)!!!! Mega-Rich and Reflects Very Pink. They had about 5 different tendertones (including my favorite Honey Bare) lots of blushes, and a few other goodies. Decent eyeshadow selection too, but probably not enough to warrant driving there unless you have plans to go to other stores. I'm a sad panda :( 7 MESSAGE

St. Augustine, FL CCO [Jan0110] mac_cosmetics [cancer_storms] Went to the cco in St. Augustine last Friday and forgot to make list of things they had but heres some of the stuff I can remember off the top of my head for you ladies that live near. I went mostly for msfs... MSF's: Blonde, Redhead, Brunette, Refined, Porcelien Pink, Perfect Topping, Cheeky Bronze and Sunny By Nature. ALL the BLushes I could remember: Hushabye, Nuance, love rocks, cherry, plum du bois, X-rocks( and the other one) blunt, format, sweet as cocoa, fafi hipness, and alot of the split mineralized blushes. The Great MAC Pigment Repackaging Debate. [Jan0110] mac_cosmetics [new_york_doll] [ mood | peaceful ] [ music | ZZ Top -- "Heard It on the X" ] I understand the upset over the repackaging/downsizing of MAC's pigments; at first I was all like: "OMG, how can they just screw us like that??" I'm a pigment collector, and I thought this might finally break me of my habit. I mean, it isn't like I need any more. But then I saw "Universal Mix" and my inner magpie surfaced -- ooooo, shiny! AND DEN?? I clicked it into my shopping cart and checked out. And I figure most MAC junkies will have the same reaction (if not over Universal Mix, then another pretty pigment.) Because as has been observed before: I have yet to make much of a dent in any of my pigment jars, even the ones I use most often. Plus, don't think MAC hasn't noticed the selling of samples in the consumer community. If I were part of the company, I would see this as a sure sign that there was too much product in the container. Of course, it would've been nice if they'd given us a price break, but in the end I don't think this is going to have much of an effect on their sales. I'm not saying anyone is wrong to be upset over the issue; I'm just saying I doubt it's going to lose MAC a significant part of their customer base. 32 MESSAGE

Free MAC lesson? [Jan0110] mac_cosmetics [mybigchange] I went to my counter today to buy an eyeliner. Whilst I was there the MA asked if I wanted a free hour and a half makeup lesson on Friday, so I of course said yes. I just thought this was really rather odd as I've been to MAC counters countless times before and apart from the odd blush/lippie I've asked the MA to put on me, nothing like this has happened before. Also this was a new MA from what I could tell and she really made it seem like I was doing her a favour. So is this something they do regularly or not? Also any ideas of what I should ask her to demonstrate in the lesson? I'm currently thinking smokey eyes, dark lips or top liner... EDIT: Also what can I expect from the lesson? De menthe for sale, and help to photoediting! [Jan0110] mac_cosmetics [fieeh] I have De Menthe e/s for sale, it's been used so there's a dip in it, but of course still plenty left. Is $20 plus shipping completely off? I've been off with prices a few times before, so now I ask before I set the price in stone :) And another thing.. I can take pictures myself, well, OKAY pictures, they're not perfect at all. But I need some pictures with bright makeup, I can take them myself, but they have to be all glamourous and something people see if I put it on an ad for example. You know, something you feel the need to check out - I can do the makeup my self and pictures and everything, it's just the editing. Editing to get the perfect glowy skin and get the colors a lot bolder, sculpting the face and so on... I can remove blemishes and create a suntan and do the basic stuff easily enough, but I have no idea how to do the other stuff so it looks nice and professional... It's for my own company (it's pretty small still, so I want to advertise a bit), and I try to do it personally with putting my own pictures on it, don't really want to copy-paste from the internet anymore... So, is there anybody in here who can do this, or knows someone who can? I'm willing to pay for this service of course, as I know it takes quite some time to do just one picture.
